Same, same but different

2 Comments Get a job (Sweden), Move to Sweden

We’ve been holding of sharing the good news until all the papers and that was sorted. But as they’re now signed and ready we can share the fantastic news about Simon’s job. He went for a week of training but it all ended with him being given a great opportunity with a totally different position within the company. They realised what an asset Simon and his knowledge would be to the company and offered him to be part of building up the business from the bottom up with his technical expertise.

He doesn’t have to be a sales rep with his own company working only on commission any more. He’ll have a normal salary and he doesn’t have to worry about the expenses with the house back in Australia, they will be covered now. It’s a very big relief not only for Simon but also for me. The situation has been very stressful the last couple of months and we were discussing our alternatives before he got this break and unfortunately one of them was that Simon had to go back to Australia. Now that doesn’t have to happen and we’re extremely happy, even though the work means that he initially (for a unspecified amount of time) has the be down in Malmö working. But after all, the distance between Jönköping and Malmö is a lot shorter than the one between Jönköping and Melbourne so for a shorter period of time I think we’ll cope.
