We’ve made plans to go camping along the Murray River with some friends of Simon’s when we’re in Melbourne. Something I both look forward to and fear. I look forward to it because I love the nature and I’m curious to see what this comfy camping I’ve heard so much about really is (it’s a traditional thing camping along the river so I’ve heard a couple of stories). I fear it beacuse in the nature there are spiders and snakes and everyone know that there are only venemous spiders and snakes in Australia (no prejudices here), so I probably end up getting bitten. (Just kidding mum, nothing to worry about)

We stick to the edible theme here with the next thing we need to make sure we do when we’re in Australia – eat Tim Tams. Tim Tam is a brand of yummy Australian chocolate biscuits manufactured by Arnott’s. A Tim Tam is composed of two layers of chocolate malted biscuit, separated by a light chocolate cream filling, and coated in a thin layer of textured chocolate. Chocolate with chocolate, it can’t go wrong!

We’re now back on the food theme again with this entry. Of course we have to have some Chicken Parmigiana when we’re Down Under.  Parmigiana is an Italian dish that’s a very popular Australian pub dish and there it’s often referred to as Parma. The dish consists of a sliced chicken (dipped in beaten eggs and dredged in flour or breadcrumbs) pan fried in oil, layered with a slice of ham, tomato sauce and cheese, and baked in an oven. It’s often served with a side of chips and salad.

We’ve been talking about maybe try to take some surf lessons while we’re down there. I’ve never tried it and Simon was more of a body surfer guy growing up so he never tried it either. And here I was under the faulty assumption that all Aussies surfed, talk about prejudices.

As long as we’re on the retail theme I’ll give you another store I most definitely will pay a visit – Novo Shoes.

“Love Me, Love My Shoes”

It’s been a while and I’ve almost forgot about my little list of things to do when we get to Oz. One thing I most definitely will do while I’m in Oz is to pay Kikki.K a visit. Love the stuff!

Something I know Simon is really missing over here in Sweden is Fish’n'Chips so I’m anticipating we’ll be having that both one and two times. (Yes, we’re still on the food and drink theme here.)

I’m sure Simon will be drinking not only Aussie wine but also quite a few Coopers Sparkling Ales.

I’ll not only try to get my hands on some O-wine. I plan on enjoying some nice Australian wine in general. Yes, we can get Australian wine in Sweden too but the selection is limited.

We definitely organise to go on a wine tour when we’re in Adelaide. Last time we were there we did one in the McLaren Vale region so maybe we’ll try something different like Barossa Valley this time.
