So good and very wet! We’re still on a high. The Sidney Myer Music Bowl is such a great venue too. Even though we were pretty far back we had a great view and the sound was awesome. Only downside…the heavy rain. It was still a million times better than Dublin.
Don’t you worry child!
12 hours to go! So excited! The weather gods have thrown a spanner in the works though. It hasn’t rained for about two months or something but today, at the time of the concert the forecast says heavy rain! What the f*ck! But we’re not going to let this stop us, we have rain ponchos.
It’s hard to believe that a day that starts like this will end up being rainy and shitty though. The sunrise over the city this morning was absolutely beautiful.
One last tour
That Swedish House Mafia is on their last farewell tour around the world before these excellent DJ’s split up is not news. We tried to get tickets to their one off Australian show in Sydney in February, last week but failed miserably. Ticketmaster’s website crashed, phone lines jammed and all tickets were gone in minutes. We were pretty upset since we would love to see them one more time after our muddy Dublin experience earlier this year.
Steve Angello, Axwell and Sebastian Ingrosso quickly announced that they were working on a solution for all those disappointed fans (including us) that failed to get tickets and on Thursday a second show was announced, in MELBOURNE!! We’re thrilled! The tickets go on sale on Thursday next week and we just HAVE to get tickets.
One down, one to go
Spotify, finally in Oz
Spotify announced yesterday that it’s now possible for everyone Down Under to sign up for this great music service, one of Sweden’s best inventions ever. With Spotify you can search for artists, songs or albums and start playing without having to download the tracks. You can create playlists and share music with friends.
There are three different plans available, one of them being free but then you have to live with the fact that they play ads every now and then and there is a restriction to the hours you may use the service and how many times you’re allowed to play a track. it gets pretty annoying so I would recommend you to chose either the Unlimited plan for $6.99/month which gets rid of the ads and gives you unlimited usage or the even better Premium plan (that I have here in Sweden) for $11.99 giving you enhanced sound quality and the possibility to use the service both online, offline and on your computer or mobile as well.
We recommend you to visit the homepage and get on board straight away!
Absolut Greyhound
Have a look at this really cool ad promoting the drink Absolut Greyhound from ABSOLUT, featuring new music from Swedish House Mafia.
Summerburst Festival
Last night we booked tickets for the Summerburst Festival in Göteborg in June. Summerburst is a new electronic music festival first held in Stockholm last year. This year it’s back and expanding to Göteborg as well. Deadmouse, Axwell, Avicii and Calvin Harris are among the DJs confirmed to play at the festival. Red Bull will also have a Silent Disco at the festival, the first one ever held in Sweden. Sounds pretty cool to me! To make it even better we also have two friends coming down from Stockholm for the weekend to join us. In other words, something to really look forward to. ![]()
Fall at your feet
Friday afternoon, possibly the best time of the week. Sitting on the train on my way up to Stockholm listening to this song – Fall at your feet with Boy & Bear. I got a feeling it will be a good weekend!
I like
Gotye – Somebody that I used to know
This song by Belgian-Australian Gotye (pronounced “go-tea-yay”) has really grown on me since I first heard it and I like it.
