Took a little break from my packing and have been editing some more of Maria and Håkan’s wedding photos. Even though I got some really good shots I really feel that I want to become a better photographer and learn more about editing my photos. Maybe I’ll sign up for an evening photo class in Melbourne if I have the time.

Through a Swedish camera blog I follow I found out about American Kelly Moore‘s really nice camera bag collection. It’s such a great idea to actually design a camera bag that doesn’t look like an ugly camera bag but more like a normal handbag. I’m surprised no one thought of that before (or maybe someone did and I’ve missed it). Anyway, I think it’s awesome and want to share it with you here in the blog.

Min fotografering av en av mina bästa vänners bröllop i maj kommer allt närmare och närmare och jag börjar bli lite nervös. En sak som jag bestämt mig för att skaffa tills dess som jag inte har är en reflexskärm. Jag har velat ha en, en längre tid och nu känns som ett bra tillfälle att införskaffa en. Har blivit rekommenderad en sida som heter tvspelsweb.se som tydligen ska ha bra pris och service.

En reflexskärm är ett väldigt bra, enkelt och billigt sätt att få dina bilder se extra fina ut! I porträtt får ögonen lite extra gläns och det gör bilden mycket roligare att titta på!

Vad är en reflexskärm och varför använder man den?

Reflexskärmar kommer i olika storlekar, färger och former men de har samma uppgift – att förstärka ljuset, minska skuggor och jämna ut kontraster. Read more

Wow, after watching the 15 minute documentary about Denis Smith (that Anita so kindly told me about) explaining his background and how the ball of lights are made, the photographs seem even more amazing.

This 15 minute documentary tells the story of Denis Smith. Two years ago he was in a high pressure sales job suffering with depression, debt and alcohol problems. Then he discovered light painting, and his life changed forever…

Denis Smith is an Adelaide photographer that I found because of his latest photographic project – Ball of Light. The photos are absolutely amazing and intriguing. Wouldn’t mind having one of his prints on the wall, maybe I’ll try to get my hands on one when we’re down.

Vi mjukstartar lite med några begrepp som man bör ha förståelse för. På alla kameror finns det givetvis ett autoläge där du inte behöver fundera ett dugg på dessa men vill du som jag ta steget bort från det helautomatiska fotograferandet behöver du förstå dessa begrepp. Det är inte helt lätt att hålla reda på men jag ska försöka knyta ihop det och förklara vad de innebär.

Blev väldigt inspirerad när jag var på fotokurs i onsdags. Det är en väldigt basic nybörjarkurs på Medborgarskolan här i Jönköping. Mycket teori alltså men jag känner att det kommer bli kanon. Man måste krypa innan man kan gå och jag vill verkligen lära mig kamerans funktioner lite bättre, hur ljuset påverkar bilden och få en bra förklaring till begrepp som bländare, slutartid, ISO, brus, vitbalans, histogram och skärpedjup. Efter ett kurstillfälle kan jag säga att jag tror att kursen är helt rätt för mig och jag tror jag kommer lära mig massor.

Jag tänkte att jag skulle dela med mig lite av mina nyfunna kunskaper i en liten miniserie av inlägg på ämnet (samtidigt som det blir ett sätt för mig att komma ihåg också och kunna gå tillbaka och titta). Inläggen kommer hamna i den nyskapade kategorin Photography och miniserien kommer så fint kallas Fotografering för dummies/Photography for dummies.

Planen är att göra ett första inlägg i helgen så håll utkik!

Generation 2 the Canon 24-150 mm lens coffee cup

People at work has been going on the last couple of days about a pretty cool coffe mug, a replica of a Canon camera lens. I thought if was really cool and a couple of them ordered the mug the other day. But since I have a Nikon myself I wasn’t that interested. But I love googling and it wasn’t that suprising that I found a Nikon counterpart on the market too.

The Canon one is actually what they call the 2nd generation of their coffee cup, the Canon 24-105mm Lens Coffee Cup. The first one was a thermo cup replica of a 70-200 mm lens, first seen at the Vancouver Winter Olympics earlier this year. The mug was given to the photographers covering the event.
