We’ve had (yet another) busy day today. So far we’ve packed some more stuff, bought MDF board for the boxes we planned on building (with we I of course mean Simon) to protect my paintings during transport, built these boxes (and yes I helped), given stuff away to goodwill and sold a TV bench. And the day isn’t even over yet. Such a nice relaxing holiday…or not.

It’s been an interesting weekend I’ve attended my first ever flea market (as a seller that is). In an attempt to possibly earn some more cash for the move I decided to collect bits and pieces I wished to get rid of and sell them at a drive in flea market here in Göteborg. My mum was kind enough to come up and help me out. Good since we don’t even have a car and it gave us a chance to do something a bit different together as well. 🙂 The weather was nice and there were both a lot of cars attending (the organisers estimated it to be around 150 cars) and a lot of people coming to have a look too. It ended up being a small success and together we made a profit of 2500 SEK, not bad considering it was all stuff I planned on giving away to charity anyway and I the most expensive item I sold I charged 70 SEK for. 🙂
Take a pick, I feel all of the above. It just hit me the other day, like someone instantly just stole all my energy. I don’t know why and the timing sucks since there is still much more to do and all I really want to do is crawl into bed and just sleep.
Well I guess it’s just time to suck it up and keep going. I don’t think I really should be complaining since Simon has been doing 15 hour workdays lately and probably is as tired as well. But tomorrow is his last day and he’ll head home. On the train since we don’t have a car any more. Me, I have 5 more days of work left before it’s time for some well earned holiday.
My colleagues are so nice and I’ll miss them heaps when I leave. Not only do we work very well together but we always seem to find a way to have fun and laugh at work, no matter how stressful things are. So as a little gesture of appreciation I treated everyone in the office (well it’s only 7 people so it’s not that many) to a little summer fika today. During the fika they surprised me with a really nice gift, a funky bracelet from Swedish DIIZ called After the Show. It’s a pink silicon bracelet with a very cool graphical print on it. I love it! The sun is shining and I’m off to have dinner with my favourite Outdoor colleagues at Moon Thai Kitchen. It’s safe to say my day could be a lot worse. 🙂
Went to see a naprapath about my back problems today. Apparently my lower back pain probably is a result of my shoulder area being to inflexible and my lower back and abdominal area to weak. Sitting at a desk in front of the computer all day doesn’t exactly help and I know my posture is really bad, my shoulders seem to push forward all the time.
After some stretching, back cracking, a TENS session (Transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation) and a massage I feel a bit sore, I’m less tense in my upper back area but still have some pain in my lower back. The mission now is to take it easy, stay away from doing stuff that hurts and do some exercises to train the mobility in my back. Then once I’m better I need to strengthen my lower back and abs and work on getting more flexible in my upper back area so I hopefully can avoid this in the future. It’s just the worst timing having back pain right now when our apartment needs to packed up.
I’m trying to enjoy my time with Pollux the best I can and I’m trying not to think too much about the fact that he’ll soon be living with my dad. I know he’ll be fine but I’ll sure miss him. I know a lot of you might think “Get over it, he’s just a dog” but he’s not he’s a friend and a family member.
