It’s Pollux’s 8th birthday today. I really miss him and wish he was here even though I know he’s fine at my dad’s.

Speaking to almost the entire family on Skype at the same time plus receiving this photo with Nana in it. Happiness!
Being apart from your family and friends is the toughest part of moving to the other side of the world but it’s nice to at least be able to watch them via Skype almost feeling like you’re in the same room as them.
I finally picked up the ceramic decoration egg I made at Maria’s hen party in May, this morning. It was left to be burned and glazed at the shop and have not been ready until now. It didn’t quite turn out the way I imagined but it’s kind of cute anyway. Now it’s sitting in mum’s garden. 🙂
Today I’ve had a really nice day visiting the Baltic Sea Festival with Pippi Longstocking and her family. 😉 I’ve still heard nothing more from Simon besides the “I made it.” text I received yesterday. Typical guy text by the way, not very informative when it comes to details. 🙂 I hope he’ll get an Aussie number soon so I can get an update. I want to know what’s going on, what our apartment is like, what it feels like to be home, if he has moved in to our place yet and all that other stuff
We’ve been trying to spend time with friends and family before we leave and just so Simon could meet all our friends down here in Karlshamn one more time before he left we had organised to have a little summer barbecue in mum’s garden last Sunday. We got lucky and had no rain all afternoon and we had a great time.
To see some photos just look under photos/Sweden/Summer BBQ up the top.
It has been an amazing weekend, at least for me. Simon ended up being really sick and missed our friends’ wedding. 🙁 It was a beautiful wedding and it meant so much for me to be able to share the special day with Maria and Håkan. The weather could have been a lot better, especially during our little photo session. It was a windy, a bit chilly and it drizzled from the sky but overall it we were lucky, it could have been a lot worse. But it wouldn’t have hurt if the sun was out like it was on the yesterday though.
Now the wedding photos have to be edited. I had a quick look through them yesterday and it seems like I’ve managed to at least get a couple of good shoots. I’m sure I can give you a little sneak peak later but until then I’ll just share a photo of one of mum’s apple trees.
Hen party if you google translate it to Swedish comes up as möhippa, of course, but also with the even funnier optional translation fruntimmersbjudning. No matter what you wish to call it we had one for my very good friend Maria the other weekend. As I’ve written before in Sweden the Bride to be (and the same goes for the Groom to be and his Box party) are supposedly unaware of when the party will take place.
The hen party was down in Karlshamn where Maria, the bride to be, lives. Her sister in law who is a hairdresser is doing here hair for the big day and they had made plans to look at hairstyles. But instead of that she was surprised and kidnapped by us girls hiding in the back of the hair salon. I think she had her suspicions that the party would take place that day but she was still quite surprised to see us.
