That’s how I like to refer to yesterday’s trip from Jönköping to Stockholm. What should have been a smooth and uneventful trip that should have taken just around 4 hours ended up being a loooong and boring 9.5 hour trip. The delay was caused by downed electrical wires on the track in two separate places between Norrköping and Mjölby. This caused major delays on all trains between Malmö and Stockholm. For me that meant that I got stuck in Nässjö (only 30 km away from home) 3.5 hours before I finally was on a train heading towards Stockholm. After just one stop we had to switch trains and we ended up on a diverted train heading on a longer route towards Stockholm avoiding the closed tracks. I was finally at the hotel, after battling my way through the taxi queue (people went totally crazy removing other people’s luggage from taxis they considered themselves have the right to get) outside the train station in Stockholm, at just before 2 am this morning.
If you want to read about other screw ups that SJ has done that I’ve written about just have a look HERE and HERE.
I know the problems persisted today too. I really hope it’s all sorted by the time I’m heading home tomorrow arvo. Now time for an early night to catch up on some sleep.
